Hello Dewy,

Welcome to this forum!!

I'm glad that you have had the MRI, etc. Those will be valuable for the spine doctor you will be seeing. Do let us know what he/she has to say.

I would recommend that you seek oiut the best spinal surgeon in your area and get a second opinion from that doctor.

Hope all goes well.

Here are the Doctors Findings, I have what he calls Lumbar Spinal Stenosis and is recommending surgery to open up Spinal canal. He said he would also do a fusion of the area where he takes out the bone. For today untill I make up my mind as to what I want to do he put me on Hydocodone-APAP 5-500 every six hours. He said that he believes that the scoliotic deformity is due to my adjusting my spine because of the Pain. He did say He could do steroid injections or send me to a pain clinic. What do you-all think and how effective is surgery for Stenosis?

My prescription for the Hydocodone is for one or two tablets whenever needed for pain twice daily. I took one twice yesterday which did take off the edge, I took two this AM and can't believe how normal I feel. I was able to do the tread-mill for 30 min which I haven't been able to do for a year. Question is The Pain Medication therapy a good long lasting solution to my problem? Is there a chance after several months this wont work as well? Please for you that have these problems give me some advise.
