Hello very recently (as of a month) I have been dealing with a male. I do not know where to begin. I do not know if he is suffering from mental illness or something else. He is very spiritual person, let me preface, and he is an artist. He has some very far out there spiritual beliefs, such as spirit guides and such, so I cannot tell if he is delusional. I know many psychic people who are not mentally ill if you understand....He doesn't care about his appearance and dresses like a homeless person. He brushes his teeth in public and sees nothing wrong with it (I have had to tell him). He doesn't seem to be very present, like he's lost in his own world. He exceptionally intelligent white boy (comes from a good family) who is convinced that he is a black thug from the inner city and he really plays up the role....to the point to where it seems as if he is someone else. The rest of his family are your typical surburban family.....and he seems to think he is a thug from NY. I am talking to the point to if he talked to him over the phone you would think he is......he gets mad if you call him white....like upset to the point that if a male made a comment about it, he would fight them. I do not understand why his mind processes it that way.......
Does this make sense? Something doesn't seem right and I cannot put my finger on it. HE made a joke once that schizophrenia is his best friend, but when I asked him about it he said that hes never been diagnosed or taken meds. He hates conventional doctors....refuses to go to them. He thinks they are out to get us. He is a conspiracy theorist....another
issue I'm having. I can't tell if they are his delusions or what. He seems to think OJ and Lee Malvo were set up by the government. He wants to move to a mountain and live away from society. He wants to be a rapper that dresses like a homeless person because he thinks that how he is going to reach the masses. He calls himself God, in reference to the fact that we are all gods and goddesses. He talks to his masters, as he calls them, his spirit guides. He believes he is the reincarnation of Che Guevara and claims he is going to live to be 240 (he jokes around alot and I can't tell if he is playing around or not). He seems like he never sleeps. Like going to bed at 2 waking up at 7 kind of thing.....I am noticing it is pattern. He is HYPERSEXUAL, like constantly hard and he can go for hours.
His teeth are rotted out (it's very strange once again how a 35 yr old man teeth are that bad). He is kind of a Rastafarian....so that is how he explains away the horrible way he dresses. He claims he "doesn't want to give into Babylon and he doesn't care about his appearance. He is a GORGEOUS man but has this hideous beard and doesn't do anything with his hair. He always keeps it back.....I don't understand how such a beautiful man turned into a a crooked, rotted teeth homeless dude with oversized beard. YOu get the picture????
HE is actually a pretty neat person and eats healthy and is a vegan and kind of militant about it. All his seems to talk about are vegan things and spiritual things. He got his first job two years ago after he claimed he lived on the streets for 10 yrs (because his parents kicked him out). When I asked him about it he claimed he was doing irresponsible things...not in the right mental state and that his parents are controlling. But they still wont let him live with them. I asked him if he ever did drugs and he said no, except he smokes Mary jane...and he smokes ALOT. He is paranoid. He is afraid of flying on airplanes. He doesn't like going to places like malls or where they are alot of people (NORMAL people). Instead he likes running the streets all day in the ghetto (I am not trying to be mean). He loves ghetto people and artsy misfits from NEw York....but comes from a prosperous family.....but doesn't like being around middle class, normal people. When he gets around normal people he doesn't seem to relate to them. Everything he talks about is veganism, spirituality, and consciousness. When he met my parents he was saying all these urban lingos, NOT appropriate. They think he is a weirdo and too eccentric. When he was at the hospital with his family he was making jokes and seemed inappropriate, almost like a child. He behaves like a 15 yr old boy....seriously, not like a thirty something. He doesn't seem to see how he is out of touch with reality......he always how this kind of lost look on his face and when I look into his eyes it's like he's not there. And once again he can't even see what I mean. I have told him about dressing better and taking more pride in his appearance and he has made an effort to change....but the combination of the strange behaviors and habits has got me wondering if there is more at work here.
I have a young child and I have only known him for a month and I always thought there was something off about him. He claims he wants to start a cult, or a spiritual collective and he is convinced he has got a huge mission to fulfill. HE fell in love with him off the start, calling me his wife and talking about kids and wanting to know when i had my period, all on the first date!!! Maybe I was a fool to continue, but he is the sweetest, nicest guy in the world. He gives my footrubs, good in bed, always calls me, always does what he says, always shows up on time, is pretty clean person, gives me money, and everything. I have never been treated so well by a man, this is why is sucks. It's driving me crazy. Whenever I hint at his having mental illness he just starts ranting how we are all psycopaths and how its a big medical conspiracy. I don't know what to do. I would like answers and any feedback you have would be greatly appreciated. Is this sounding like schizophrenia or just an extremely ungrounded spiritual person??? I just wonder how he is going to fair in life because it doesn't seem like he has it together?
