Q: Scars on legs

Hi there,

I have quite a few scars on my legs from injuries of years past. The majority of them are NOT deep, but I am very pale, so they are very visible.

I understand that tanning would help them be less noticeable, but I do not tan (I remain concerned about UV damage and actually like the way I look pale), so I'm wondering about other methods I might use.

Can anyone suggest anything for making these scars less noticeable? I'm not necessarily looking for a quick fix; something long term is fine and I'm perfectly amenable to taking/using something every day.

I already take a standard multivitamin and have been advised NOT to take more by my family physician, so topical would really be best for me, if I can swing it.

Thanks, in advance, for your help! Very Happy

Scar treatment options
Scars usually fade over time but never go away completely. If the way a scar looks bothers you, various treatments might minimize it. These include surgical revision, dermabrasion, laser treatments, injections, chemical peels and creams.

You can find more information about these treatment options and information about scarring at the National Library of Medicine website here:

Thanks for the information and link.

I'd really like to hear from a few people that have tried some things, especially some of the topical treatments, to hear what their results were.

there are lotions out there like cocoa butter cream-it really reduces scars and marks especially where skin is discolored. i also saw a commercial of a product that can make old scars go away. i think you should go to a store or jus look up wat the product is i saw on tv.
