scar tissue and bowel

You can easily develop lower right abdominal pain if you are constipated.
Almost every abdominal surgery is followed by forming scar tissue or adhesions, that, eventually cause some side effects.
After appendectomy 50% of patients will develop adhesions, and the possible result could be a constriction of the small intestine, producing constipation and pain.

Talk with your physician for finding the true reason for your constipation!

Don't play around, get to your Dr. I also had my appending out, that was 30 years ago. Last week I experienced stomach cramps and vomiting, this continued for 3 days, I thought I had a virus, unfortunately it was not. It was caused from a bowel constriction from scar tissue (adhesion) that wrapped around the bowel like a guitar string and nearly took my life. If you have pain, or think it could be something serious, don't delay, get a Drs. opinion.

hi there im having similar problems atm i have contant urge to urninate and now my bowel movements are getting thinner from what they say a bad c-section 2 years ago im seeing a specialist again in 3 weeks im worried about my bowel as i have just started to really have a problem do u guys think it could be more adhesions on my bowel? cheers

My mom just passed on July 5th from scar tissue wrapping around her intestines (bowel). After the pain started on the 2nd, she was gone within days. Ultimately it killed her intestines and she died from sepsis. Since your post was in 2009, I sure hope you got it checked out.

I just got home from what we thought was going to be hernia surgery. When I woke up I was told instead I had scar tissue wrapped around my intestine And bowel.I now feel blessed that God led me to this doctor and put that voice inside me that knew something was really wrong and not to give up. Please pay attention to your body its your pain is real not just in your head

Had a colonoscopy yesterday. I have been having symptoms for years of my bladder burning and frequent urination which turns into pain. This happens for a few days and then it subsides and I go on. This happens every so often. I have seen the Gynecologist who says they can't see anything wrong. I have seen a Urologist who did a bladder tack and tested me for Interstitial Cystistis which came back negative. I saw the Urologist one year later in pain and he said I had Diverticulitis and said he didn't usually treat for that, but gave me antibiotics. I went home and called a Gastroenterologist. I had a CT Scan last month, clear. I had a colonoscopy yesterday, and she found a constriction in my lower bowel, what she believes may be scar tissue wrapped around my colon. She also removed a small polyp which was nothing. However, because she removed the polyp I have to wait two more weeks before they can do the barium xray to confirm what she believes to be the mass. I guess it is not dangerous for me to wait another two weeks? I have been going through this for quite some time, it has just gotten worse over time.

Hello well what i want to know is if the scar tissue came from surgery, And to feel better is toget it removed, I'm thinking would that cause more scarring, I'm afraid scared I don't know what to because I've been told I need surgery to remove scare tissue that is constricting my bowel flow, I want to feel better but I don't want more scar tissue so please some body tell me is it a better way because I don't think I want to be cut again...

Wish I knew the answer. I have had different surgeries on my abdomen five times, The last time when part of the bowel was removed, the doctor said my insides looked as though someone had shot me with a shotgun. So I am holding off on the report of extreme pain until I can't stand it anymore or something gets so tied up nothing will come through. Good luck to you and God bless.
