i have scalp psoriasis. i have been to the doctors and gotten the tar shampoos and oils and they make my hair brittle and then months later i have to use them again. my hair gets very abused and i feel really bad. i have been on many forums reading about people with tthe same problems. i have recently found something that seems to be working pretty good without making my hair brittle and it is making the psoriasis take a step back. i have been using it for about 4 or 5 months and i haven't had anything but a mild outbreak in quite a while.

so if you are interested this is what i use.

every other day i put honey (right from the store or supermarket) on the worst break out areas. then the rest of the scalp gets covered in extra virgin olive oil. its very good for moistureizing skin. wrap thhat in a towel or a shower cap for at least 2 or 3 hours. though the longer the better. then wash it out with warm water and any shampoo you may have. then on the other days shower with Paul Mitchell tea tree shampoo and conditioner.

you'd be amazed at the results. it cuts back on how much you have to use the tar shapoos and oils. and though it may take like a week for the flaking to go away if you stick it out. the results are OUTSTANDING.

Ask your doctor to prescribe 60mL Ratio-Clobetasol Scalp Lotion. It works very well. It is a steriod but your hair is healthy when you use it. I put it on before I go to bed.

The only thing is that your scalp will smell like alcohol for about 5 minutes until the alcohol evaporates.

If your case is mild, then you will only need to use the scalp lotion every other day or when it flares up.
