Q: scabies and itching ?

I'm worried if i do indeed have scabies, I came into contact with a person who had scabies, I recently sat on there couch. I was not told about this person having scabies untill 2 months later, which is when i noticed i had bein scratching very severely on my waistline, and armpits. I had another incident while running and came to the conclusion that this was the reason i was itching so severely on my waistline. I had tripped and fell on my stomach, and at the time were wearing elastic shorts, The shorts waistline rolled up, and dirt with grass had gotten into my pubic area. A full day went by before i noticed dirt was in there. About a day after that i noticed the itching, and it did not stop untill i shaved. This was before i had came into contact with the scabies victim btw.

Now my question is, If i had scabies, every single day would i constantly be scratching? Over time the scratching seemed to just stop, though i do scratch on my knee's and legs, They are dry and to cure that i use lotion. I do not have any scratch marks, or scrapes because of scratching anywhere on my body, except for one dry spot on my shin.
