I’m so depressed; my hair is falling out for the last 5 weeks.
There are some strange things are happening to me. Please read this:
I’m 25 years old female, apart from being a acne victim since age 13, it’s been 2 years my hair is shedding
Last year my blood test showed my Dheas is high around 8.8 normal ranges is up to 7.7
My hair was falling but not crazy enough for me to worry, my Dr put on Bcp and for 3 months I had the worse time of my life I had all the side effects listed on the brochure .after the last pack (Diane 35) my hair started to shed crazy, my skin and throat got really dry that I had to rub and drink olive oil.
Not to mention the pills put me in a mental situation, constantly crying for no reason and tried to kill myself couple of times, finally after 2 months I got better, my hair shedding stopped completely and my joints and muscle aches were gone, however the acne and oily skin came back like crazy.
So just to make this short every doctor I went they said you acne is because of excess androgen production it went to the point that I had nightmare about androgen I started doing some research and found Saw Palmetto and spearmint has anti androgenic properties and started taking 320mg of saw palmetto and 2 to 3 cups of spearmint tea a day.
On the 6th day of my regime my hair started to fall out it was around 21 day of my cycle ,I only took 19 saw palmetto pills and now after almost 5 weeks my hair is still shedding a lot almost 200 hairs a day.
The strange thing is that my body hair and eyebrow is falling too, I have some baby hair on my scalp which are very thin and blonde .also my arm hair has gotten also super fine and blonde
I had a blood test 2 weeks ago and everything is fine including my dhea and testosterone but the doctors are still relating my sudden hairloss to androgen.
Please help me I’m not able to find any information on saw palmetto side effect or anything like my situation.
P.S my cystic acne hasn’t got better it seems that it has only effected my hair.
