same sac from m/c or new pregnancy
Posted: 08-18-08 15:24pm

hi

ive recently posted on conception forum as ive been very confused with things..

i m/c june 30th

was possible due 28th july

no period, posotive test and symptoms

ive been scanned and they said new pg ( as i didnt have follow up scan after m/c) and the yolk sac measured at 12mm 6 weeks

how do the calculate the 6 weeks because if i count 6 weeks back from the scan i was still bleeding after the m/c

im so confused about how the baby would have been there to grow 3-4 days after my m/c started?

does that make any sense to you guys?
the hospital wont even help and they are making me wait another 10 days to confirm wether its on going..

or would it be from the last pg? also she said it was new but if it had been growin there for 6 weeks then surley it cant be possible gettin pregnant while i was carryin an non-ongoing fetus for it to start growin 3 days after A M/C

hope someone has some help with this its getting me down
thanks

The ultrasound can be off by one or two weeks either way. So you could be four weeks or five weeks. In any other case, with the exception of yours, someone measuring 6 weeks could also be up to 8 weeks. Just ride the 10 days out and wait for the next ultrasound. The good news for you is that a yolk sac was visible. Was an actual embryo seen too?

Oh another question: I am going to assume that you were due for your period on the 28th of July...correct me if I am wrong.

yes i was possibly due on 28th but was unsure due to m/c

hi
how does it work out to be the 17th?

if i count 4 weeks from the scan date its exactly 4 weeks..

the week i was due i had on off crampin for 2 days and i swear i seen spotting when i wiped but that was after we slept togther so its hard to say but my cervix was very low like i was goin to have a period then the week after when i got my posotive test my cervix was high
do you think thats a good enough indication implantation occured? even 2 weeks after we last had sex or would it have happend after that?

still cant work out why it would be measuring to 12mm though if i was really that early but i have read anything over 6mm is abnormal and if it reaches 12mm it can be a failed pg

please write back with your advice

thank you

The day you conceive, you're considered to be 2 weeks pregnant already. When you miss your period, you're technically only 2 weeks pregnant, but you're considered to be 4 weeks pregnant.

When they told you you were 6 weeks pregnant, you had been pregnant for 4 weeks. It's not 6 weeks gestationally, but it's how they count it. Does that help?
