Hi, this is kind of weird for me, I've never done anything like this before, but I figured I'd go ahead and ask anyway. I'm a biology major in college right now, but I guess that's not really important. I just actually had a question.
Okay, here's my situation/question. The saliva a human produces is supposed to be good a breaking down food before it reaches the stomach, it even has a dual purpose of killing off any less friendly germ, bacteria, and virus' that make their way into your mouth. If you were to get a small cut and lick the cut, your saliva is supposed to act like a temporary shield or guard against other germs trying to enter your body. So seemingly, the bacteria in your saliva is not really that dangerous to your own body, whether swallowed, or absorbed through your own skin. So here's my question. If one's saliva were to be injected into that same person's body while they were sick or had the flu, hypothetically, could it help a person recover faster? I know that it would take a lot of saliva, and I know it's an odd question, but I thought it might be one worth asking.
