Hi,
Welcome to ehealthforum,
HCG diet can affect the efficacy of your birth control and put you at risk for pregnancy, hence using back-up protection (condoms/spermicide gel) while having intercourse would be safer. It can also give you symptoms that mimic pregnancy along with showing false positive results on urine pregnancy test kits. Before you get started with the diet program, you should consider visiting your doctor/gynecologist for further evaluation and clarification.
Take care.
