Q: Safe to drink Alkalized water of PH 9.5?

I came across a US website, PH Ion, that sells a "PH booster kit" that turns tap water to a PH of 9.5.

It says it's tested to meet the standards of the FDA but doesn't say it's approved by the body.

I'm thinking this may be an excellent substitute for Baking Soda to due to possible long term side effects.

Are there any medical professionals that could shed a light on this?

For scholarly articles on the subject, you can check out PubMed, a government resource which indexes medical articles from around the U.S. I found one in particular about gout diet that investigated more general diet questions in relation to gout. I'd encourage you to search the PubMed database, or try the Google scholar search to find the information you need.
