ruptured disk / lower back pain

26/female I just recently had a M.R.I and found out that I have a ruptured disk in my lower back I never had back pains before. After September 26,2008 when i gave birth to my daughter I had a spinal tap and when the anestheologist was trying to but what in the numbing medican she stuck me three times on the third attempt she must of hit a nerve because felt a sharp pain run down my left leg once that happened they called some one else in to do it it took him one time and he got the job done. now that I am having all of this pain in my back I need to know if that is part of the problem why I have a ruptured disk and having tingling down my left leg the same felling that i had when the anestheolgist poked me the day that I had a c-section
