hi i just had rubber band ligation yesterday, just want to share experience
I've had rhoids for years, so mine is not painful or bleeding. i went to see 2 specialist. one says i could live with it, or do PPH. he said with rubber band ligation, it might come back 2 or 3 years' time.
then another specialist at another hospital told me, I'm 30, better to do non-surgical treatment, and with rubber band ligation not necessarily the rhoids will re-develop again. even with PPH, rhoids may develop again. So I decided to listen to the latter.
About the procedure
I lie down on the bed sideways, the doc clean it first with something (i couldn't watch), then did the rubber thing, it was over in 1 minute. No pain, not as bad as I thought.
My doc warn me about the feeling of wanting to !**@!, 1 hour or whole evening. He wasn't kidding. It was agony. For many hours, I just feel like want to !**@!, but there's no !**@!. There's no pain, but it is worse than pain. I couldn't sleep well. But when I wake up the next day (this morning), it doesn't feel so bad now. So my advice is, whomever wanting to do this, make sure you eat nutritious food, drink plenty water then take sleeping pills, so you don't have to go through the agony.
Doc said I have stage 2/3 rhoids, maybe will drop off in 1 week. I'm just scared that it won't drop off, are there any cases of persons doing rubber band ligation but the rhoids doesn't drop ?
