I was hit in the rt side of my chest at the top of my breast 2 days ago and since then i've been having sharp pains. It increases when i try to take a deep breath or lay on either side. I wasnt hit that hard, there was no bruising. I am 38 years old and in good health otherwise. I am a smoker and have a family history of heart disease but this doesn't feel like heart it feels more like lung my pulse is normal

You could have pleurisy caused by the injury. Pleurisy is inflammation of a layer surrounding your lungs and ribs and/or fluid buildup in the same place. Sometimes it goes away on its own; other times, fluid has to be drawn to relieve the pressure.

hmm..
based on the symptoms i don't believe it is pleurisy.. sounds like u have a bruised rib or possibly a small fracture on your rib.
