Rosai Dorfmann Disease

hi..
my mother is suffering from rosai dorfman as established in AIIMS. She is having Swollen lymph nodes in the groin, under arm all over her body , not of very big sizes but still they are many. Also she has lots of weakness and low haemoglobin count . She has been on multivitamins but to no effect . It has been there for last 1 year and no improvement .Now doctors have started Prednisilone(Steroids) as the medicine but whenever the doses are reduced or a gap is given on the medicines then the Lymphnodes startes increasing. Im in a very confused state with no direction to look forward. Seek help for treatment guidance.

RD syndrome is a rare disease, and its cause is not really known at this time. In about half of all cases, the enlarged lymph nodes will spontaneously become normal again. Steroids, chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and surgery have all been used to treat this condition in those cases where patietns are highly symptomatic. Unfortunately, however, because so little is known about this disease, there is no universal agreement regarding the best treatment.
