Hi to all,

I have been diagnosed with psychotic syndrome, probably schizophrenia, and I take Risperdal as medication. The problem is, I have loss of libido. I take it for 1 and a half year, but I still don't feel like doing sex at all. My question is, does that come from the illness or the medication? And when I will come back in sex? Forgive me for my not so good English, but my mother language is not English. Please answer me.

Thats really great actually. You don't need sex.

I have the same "problem" though, although I don't consider it a problem, not after realizing what sex is and the horrible things that it causes.

Why do you want to do it so bad? It isn't that good, don't you agree?

What is sex and what horrible things does it cause? Sorry, but I disagree.

Hey, sex is perfectly healthy and if you are not enjoying it then be patient.

There is one thing you must know about the drug you are taking. It causes lactation (the production of milk) in both men and women. Trust me because I used to take it and the doctors told me it happens to women and oddly MEN too.

There are two other drugs on the market right now that I've observed closely. Two of my close friends who have schizophrenic symptoms treat it with CORTISOL, they function quite well on it. The one that I use for my symptoms is Zyprazidone/Zeldox - It is a lot more expensive. Talk to your doctor.

Thank you. I know about lactation but I don't know that I could treat that with cortisol. I used to take medicine in order to control my lactation, but still I don't feel like sex at all. I even changed medication to abilify but this is not so affective to psychosis (had symptoms again) so I will probably change it back to Risperdal. I don't care if it is expensive, because I don't pay for my medicine in my country. Cortisol is for the psychosis, or libido? Also Zyprazidone/Zeldox, what's its use?

Zyprazidone/Zeldox is the newest anti-psychotic in the pharmaceutical industry, it has the least amount of side effects and one of my former psychiatrists described it as a miracle drug. Cortisol is also an anti-psychotic

Thank you so much!I went to my doctor and said the lack of libido is due to the illness and not the medication. Who knows? We will see.

I think that's probably true because when I was on it I still got horny. But the lactation didn't fly with my partner so we broke up and I was crushed. Good luck to you.

When you were on which medication? What do you mean the lactation didn't fly with your partner? Thank you.

When I was on respiridol my partner thought it was really gross that I was lactating when we were having sex. He was grossed out and dumped me.
