Q: Risks to using ionic toothbrush ?

On a recommendation from a friend, I started using this new toothbrush called the "Ionic ProClean" toothbrush. The product claims to remove plaque by way of an ionic reaction, that is, it reverses the polarity of your enamel from a negative charge to a positive charge to match the plaque on your teeth, thus causing the plaque to be repelled from the surface of your teeth. I get that whole opposites attract thing, but I'm really curious as to whether there is any potential for long term risks involved in reversing the polarity of the enamel. I've been using the toothbrush for a while now, and it does seem to work a lot better than ordinary toothbrushes when it comes to plaque removal, without any issues thus far, but I thought I'd ask just in case my dental health was at risk!
