If your cycles are irregular, it is better to use birth control. Not doing that will leave you wondering every time if you could get pregnant. For the price of a condom, it is just not worth it to worry like this.

The risk from having unprotected sex with your boyfriend is that you ovulated within a two day period of the sex and a healthy egg and healthy sperm met and implanted.

When experiencing irregular menstrual periods, you may have irregular ovulatory periods or irregular and anovulatory menstrual periods.
Having anovulatory periods means that the egg hasn't been realized and you can't get pregnant, but, if you have ovulatory periods you can get pregnant just it is more difficult for you to predict when you are fertile, since your ovulation day varies greatly from month to month (you may start measuring basal body temperature).
It is very important for you to get evaluated by gynecologist, who only by running simple blood tests will see if you are ovulating or not.
Having unprotected sexual intercourse and relaying on pull out method as contraception, has risk for pregnancy, since in some circumstances the precum can contain sperm or the partner pulls out too late.

See your gynecologist!

Take a home pregnancy test a few day after you miss your next period or visit a health care provider.
