hi. i am a gay woman with diabetes. i need to pierce my hands about 4 times a day in order to check my sugar levels. Am i right to assume that this puts me in a higher risk of contracting HIV because of the "holes" in my hands?

tnx Smile

no. You cant get HIV just because you prick yourself....

tnx for the reply.
i actually meant during sex. with the cuts in my hand, any infected vaginal fluids i touch could possibly enter my blood flow, right?

I C..in that case you could possible transmit or pick up the virus but the chances are very slim. The prick would have to be fresh. HIV dies outside the body within a few seconds to a couple of minutes.Oxygen kills the virus..I don't think you have to worry about it.
