Q: Right side pain after scan
asked by: DoctorQuestion on May 28th, 2009
I had a DISIDA Scan w/ CCK inject for the function of my GB and ever since I have had really bad pain on my lower left side. After the scan I had Chipotle for dinner, which hasn't bothered me yet, then some ice cream, which I haven't tried since this began. My mother is a nurse and told me that since no foods have really bothered me yet that I could try the ice cream. I have taken two Vicodin 5-500 and the pain has lessened but is still there. My right side still hurts some but not like the left side. Could the pain be related to my gallbladder?

It is unlikely that your gallbladder is causing pain in the lower left part of your abdomen, however, it is impossible for me to make a specific diagnosis for patients over the Internet. There are a variety of possible explanations for pain in this area of your abdomen, and so I encourage you to have your doctor take another look in the hope that the cause of your pain can be accurately diagnosed and treated.
