I went to the docters who then sent me to the dentist, it turns out that my lower left wisdom tooth had grown sideways into my bottom teeth which has pushed them tight together, the problem is that its my right side of my jaw that sticks out which is the oposite to the faulty wisdom tooth. (wisdom tooth will be getting removed btw) never even noticed or had problems with this wisdom tooth neither.

If I touch the back of my right jaw below the ear, I get a sharp, sensitive payne in the jaw below the ear where I'm touching and sometimes I get spasms in my chin when doing then. If I put the palm of my hand on my right jaw then move my jaw, it will then click/grind which hurts my right ear. I can just rotate my jaw and focus on the right side and it will make it clickgrind in my ear. This also happens if I'm resting my right side of my face on a pillow. After doing all this, my right ear/back jaw aches slightly with a bit of pain for a short period of time.

Friends/family have recently mentoned about my jaw sticking out which has caused the concern but the weird thing is that I looked back on photos up to 4 years ago and I can see my jaw very slightly sticking out. I had a recent picture taken and it sticks out far worse that it did 4 years ago.

Any ideas what the problem could be judging from the symtoms of pain I get when touching, the tooth on the left side and the 4 year worsening of the jaw?

I have to go to the hospital soon (Maxillofacial Unit) but I just wanted to check on here to.

I myself havent had any problems with my wisdom teeth either which I still havent had removed due to only temporary pain at minor frequency. I believe that the "jaw sticking out" is simply from the irritation of the tooth and that affecting the areas around the tooth also. My jaw had a slight poking out also at one periof off time which I ignored the pain of my tooth which both eventually went away. I think after your teeth are pulled u should then see how the reaction is to really worry about it. I just believe that is from the pain and irritation of your wisdom teeth.

I went to the Maxillofacial Unit. They said the reason I my jaw is sticking out is due to more muscle growth on one side of my face. They have made me a splint for my lower teeth to wear a much as possible for 2 months to prevent me from clenching my jaw. I also have to go on a soft diet, so nothing tough like steak, hard crust on bread, sweats, chewing gum etc. I have to try and limit the use of my jaw as much as possible and take ibuprofen to.

I have to go back in 2 months and the pain should be gone by then and they think that my jaw will look more (normal) but they want to give me botox injections in my right cheak.

My right side of my face/jaw has been over used apparently with increased load & strain on the joint, disc & muscles. Likely caused by, clenching, grinding, gum chewing, eating on one side, stress, depression etc

The docter said it can/will be fixed so that was good to hear.

Turns out they have decided not to take out the wisdom tooth, its mad because it looks crazy on the xreys. They will prob look into it once my jaw/face is normal.
