My son, Ashton, will be three in March. He has no history of illness, and is very mild tempered.

For the past couple of weeks, my wife and I have noticed that his right hip pops loudly several times a day. i've counted as many as 20 times. Keep in mind that I can only count them when he his in my lap or playing with me, so that number is probably much higher as he plays well by himself.

He shows no discomfort or pain whenever the hip pops. When it pops, it is loud enough to hear and feel.

My wife has a history of her hips popping out of socket while doing menial tasks such as walking up hill or downhill. She has just learned to live with this.

I am worried that the constant popping is damaging his joint.

Has anyone else ever experienced this?
