Hello and welcome to eHealth Forum!
Pain on the inner side of the ankle is often due to inflammation at the attachment of tibialis posterior muscle. Impingement of the ankle joint between the bones of ankle and foot is another possibility.
Dislocation of peroneal muscle tendon can also cause shooting pain. Stress fractures of medial malleolus of the shin bone, tarsal tunnel syndrome, or rupture of tendon of peroneus brevis are the other possibilities.
Since the pain has now moved to the foot arch there is a chance that you have plantar fascitis. Plantar fascia is a ligament that connects your heel bone to your toes. If it swells, becomes weak or inflamed, it causes these symptoms.
The clue to right treatment is right diagnosis of the cause of pain. You can consult an orthopedic specialist or a sports medicine specialist. It is difficult to comment beyond this without examining. A comprehensive investigation is required keeping all the points in mind. Hope this helps. Take care!
