rib injury

Fell on a very hard surface last thursday taking the blow on the right side of chest wall and upper ribs around right side of breast. Was holding a baby so wasn't able to use hands to brace my fall! went to have xrays taken, and they were given a wet reading. Doctor said that he didn't see any breaks in my ribs..... I have some trouble breathing, lung congestion and severe pain depending on movements. Is it possible to have a slight crack in a rib and not be able to see it on an xray, especially when it is read wet? Thank you, Jana Smith
