I read several of the posts about the rib cage pain on left side and I have the same symptoms. I am at wits end trying to figure out what is wrong. I worry about stomach cancer, ulcers, etc. I will check into the splenik flexure syndrome to see if that will help. I hate going to doctor as they want to run all these test and then never can come to a definite answer. I was in a car accident in 1998 and seat belt cause a lot of tearing of rib cage ligaments-thought I had a broken rib at first. I also have a hiatal hernia and take Prevacid for it (for several years) so feel as if there were an ulcer the Prevacid would prevent it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

How can you expect to get a precise diagnosis without certain medical tests?
In case of chest pain and history of chest injury you only need some regular tests like: clinical examination (auscultation, inspection...), ECG and chest X-ray image. You may not need all the tests but only the necessary ones until the correct diagnosis is revealed.
