Hi,
last year I found out I had a large hiatal hernia(a para-esphagual hiatal hernia of the stomach) and it was causing a lot of pain, so I had it operated on in Oct. Than about April this year I started to get the symptoms back again, and felt like I was being pinched where my stomach was to the point where I felt like throwing up, every time I ate. I changed my diet to contain fiber etc. So they did a CT on me 2 weeks ago and found that the hiatal hernia has returned? When the operation was done they removed 1/3 of my stomach and used a mesh? to fix it. Is it possible that the mesh came loose? I am on medicaid so had the CT done through Charity care Free Clinic and they just called my and told me this. I have not seen a Gastro Doc yet the clinic has to make the appointment. Anyy answers would be appreciated? Thanks

Extremely eHealthy
There are high recurrence rates of hernia after laparoscopic paraesophageal hernia repair.
The nature of the problem, surgeons technique, patients lifestyle are more responsible for hernia relapses, than the type of used mesh.
