Hello all, I''m basically looking for a little help regarding my eyes.
I''m 21, male and for quite a few years I have had floaters. Some are black looking with clear see threw worm like things attatached to them. Over the years, they have slowly gotten worse, but never a sudden onslaughtt of floaters, which I assume would mean you get a lot instantly that just engfuls your vision? I really don''t go outside a lot due to another condition which I''m working on ( has to do with heat and actitivty causing redness and pain to certain areas ) and had extensive blood work which came back fine, so I don''t think they''re related. But wondering if years of computer useage has caused eye issues as I seem to have become near-sighted a litte. As things at longer distances aren''t too clear, but eye doctor 6 months ago said I had an slight astigmatism, but I haven''t got glasses or anything yet. I also noticed at times, an extension coming from objects. Usually noticeable in dim light and lookng at say an LCD clock, but even normal objects, like a shoe, I can see an extension of the shoe that looks black, but only when I open my eyes fully. Otherwise i can''t see it, so not sure what this is.
Besides the floaters, near-sightedness and odd like extension to objects, perhaps double vision, but I don''t think so, I''ve seen with in last 6 months or less or so, I''ve noticed these sparks of white light. I originally remember looking at the blue sky atleast a year or 2 ago and seeing these same white sparks, but now, even in doors and looking at a windows with curtains or brightly lit room I can sort see them. I say sorta, because they''re so fast it''s almost difficult to even know if it happened. Lately looking at a white screen on the computer I believe I can semi-see it as well.
My main concern is Retinal Detatchment or a tear, or any pulling going on. Is this possible? I''ve seen 2 eye doctors, one about 5 months ago or so and another 6 months or so prior to the second doctor. They both dialted my eyes and said they saw no issues. So I''m concerned if perhaps this detachment has suddenly popped up recently, and I dont'' currently have insurance so there lies the problem atm.
Basically, anyone with knowledge on this subject, does this sound at all like a detachment? And can anyone tell me if there was a detatchment how long does it takes before blinding you? Because I''ve had this for awhile, and I''m not sure if it''s even still plausible, unless I''m just in an early stage where my retina is being tugged on possibly? I''ve also read this could mean I''m just more easily able to see the white blood cells in my eye and that causes the light. Is this possible? I know if i look at the blue sky, I''ll see them indefinetly, so not sure if this is concerning, or even related to a retinal detachment version of "Flashes".
Any help would be ever so apperciated.
