I have had a THR in 2003 which was a total failure due to the implant getting infection. Stayed on a girdlestone for 6.5 years and then decided to give another shot to a Total Hip Replacement. 1st dislocation 3 weeks after surgey. Revision done 5th week. RE-dislocation again 3 months after 1st revision. Please advise if re-engaging the hip or removal would be appropriate. Please note that I have no soft tissues, no greater trochanter at all to hold a constraint hip.

Hi hiprob and welcome to eheath: This Forum where you have posted is not the Ask A Doctor forum, which you can reach by hitting on the blue line at the top of this page...This is only lay people trying to help...However, being somewhat learned on this subject, I would think that your own Orthopedist, who knows your history of do's and don't, would be the wisest one to handle this query...Either way good luck...FYI, I know of a man that had three of these done before it finally took...Take care...
