My son is 13 yrs old. He has had a total of 8 kidney stones in the last 2 years. Two of which were removed surgically. He also has approximately 5 at this time in his left kidney. As one is released more have formed. It has gotten to the point that he is calling home from school at least 2X a week with constant lower back pain on his left side. It is affecting his quality of life. We are on a 2g sodium diet. We are on 3000mg of potassium citrate. No doctor as of yet has given me an explanation of why he keeps producing them. Has anyone had these problems in children. What should we be looking for. I appreciate any help. We are at our wits end.
