Reoccuring yeast infections

Welcome to the ehealthforum and I am glad to help you out. Your concern is regarding the recurrent yeast infections. Candidiasis is caused by the overgrowth of yeast-like fungi called Candida. Candida inhabits the vagina, mouth and digestive tract in small numbers and is normally harmless. When the balance of naturally occurring organisms in the vagina is disrupted an overgrowth of Candida can occur.

Take some precautionary measures like avoid wearing tight fitting clothing like jeans and pantyhose and underwear made from synthetic fibres. Remove wet or damp bathing suits immediately after swimming, avoid douching, perfumed soaps, bubble baths and toiletries, change underwear daily, wash underwear in hot water (to destroy fungi) and double rinse (to remove any irritating detergent) and take adequate nutrition and sleep. Also use some antifungal pessaries. If still the symptoms persist then oral antifungals may be needed. Please consult a gynecologist in that case.

I am not a dr. but I have found a cure for this! I have this same problem the over a year I know what its like its awful! One infection after another and no matter how many times you go to the dr or pharmasist it comes back right away Ive spent hundreds of dollars on medication. The dr. never seemed to care and just gave me a different perscription everytime I went. I finaly got an appointment at a clinic and I was told to take acidopholous pills I didnt believe him at first but its completely cured it I dont get any yeast infections anymore! I dont know exactly how it works but from what I can remember being told it introduces natural bacteria that fights off the yeast and if you continualy take it it stays in the vagina and keeps the yeast bacteria from over multiplying. Acidopholous pills come in different strengths like 400 billion active cells for example. I got the 800 billion active cells the stronger the better I assume. What I did was go to the pharmacy and purchase a bottle of the pills take them for a week so the bacteria can establish themselves then go get the strongest pirscription you can get to treat a yeast infection from your Dr. and see what happens. Do not quit takeing the pills after its cured or it comes back you have to continue takeing them! Its so worth it I cant describe how much its changed my life. I would recommend anyone with this problem to try it!!!
