There are several methods for removing tattoos.
For complete removal of small tattoos, excision might be used.
In dermabrasion, a small portion of the tattoo is sprayed with a solution that freezes the area. An abrasive instrument is used afterwards to peel the skin.
Laser removal of tattoos includes decomposing of the tattoo pigment with lasers.
All mentioned methods might leave scars on the skin. Several treatments might be needed to completely remove the tattoo.
You might want to discuss with your family doctor or a dermatologist about the advantages and disadvantages of each particular method.
