In radically severe pain, cannot get up out of chair for 4 days now. Last time pain was this bad was 6 months ago. But at least then, I could use crutches and get to the bathroom. This time I cannot get up. This stainless steel rod was put into my left thigh to replace the shattered femur resulting from a car accident 30 years ago. It has just recently started to handicap me. It feels like it's trying to come out the top of my hip. The thought of it now being removed is frightening. I am 62 years old. What is the healing time? No health insurance. On disability, but still have another year to go before medicare kicks in. Please advise.
