I am in my six week after havering my hardware removed and new hard ware put in,I am still is a lot of pain and cannot six for a very long time,am at my best laying down,I had my frist fusion in May 2009, everything was going good I thought it was my Meds that was not working,because I have IBS too. Well after my back numbness went away the pain came like no other,it was about fourth month,I really thought that was the worst pain,the Dr.said that he should have fused the last disc,be he thought it would be better for me,for my movement and bending that he would only fuse three together ,but then said he knew how to fix my pain. NOT told me he would fix is buy going threw the front of me and fuse that last disc,(not). So I just suffered with the pain,only to have my neck and shoulder go bad on me last Dec.came on without a warning,it hurt so bad I was put in the hosp. For pain management ,found out a disc in neck had a bad disc ,and shoulder had to be replace?.??
Well what a mess,I went to pain management four times,four other Dr.s and all said I needed to have my shoulder replaced,I could not get in to another Dr. For my neck problem so I had to go back to the Dr.that did my frist fusion,had to start getting ready for surgery again with him for one disc iin the neck,between then went to a fourth shoulder Dr.and bingo he said I only needed cleaning out and the rotated cup fix ,then he ask if I wanted to go to his spin Dr. Of course what did I have to lose,my surgery with the first Dr.
God was with me that day I got in to the new Orthpaedic surgeon,he looked at all my records( always have everything with you and then some) he said I needed two disc's in the neck done one was really bad and the other looked bad,told him what the other Dr.said and told me way should he fix one and have to go back in to fix the otherata later date,then they had me chose which surgery I wanted to do first,they said it was my pain and my choice ,so my neck was done last May2011and my shoulder in Aug 2011,what if I went to one of the other four Dr. And had my shoulder replaced?? I am doing fine after thoses two surgerys,BUT HERE IS WERE THE QUESTION OF TAKEN OUT OF OLD HARDWARE ,after the neck surgery,I asked the Dr. If he would look at my fusion the other Dr.had done,told him that I knew I needed surgery but I was not going back to that first Dr.he told mei had to go back to himhecould not take care of someother Dr.s work I didn't stop untill he gave in,long story short my fusion didn't take it was all apart( that first Dr.knew that but didn't want to tell me. So I wanted to be fixed,we desided that I would have all hardware removed in Jan 2012, but all hell broke I had nerve pain like no other,right after Christmas,I thought I was dieing it hurt so bad I could have killed myself,but I love my grandkids to much to do that. My test from July were just about no good (to old) but the Dr. Didn't want me go go threw them again,all I had was a cat s.a bone spar was hitting a nerve,March 7 th I had all hardware removed and new hardware put in and more a cage and new bones,I feel for every person that is in pain,we all have different pain no tow of us are the same,my pain this time is worse then the first time,I guess it's a waiting game,I try to walk,when I gototheDr. In a week he's sending me to PT Ive been in bed since Jan. and weak and the pain has wre me out,my life is going by everyone is enjoying living,there families,vac.I want to just have my life the way it was five years ago.
I wear a back brace but I live and learn what works for me, my bed was to high so iwenttoa shorter one the chairs we have hurt to get out of ,can't they tell us what good and bad for us is there a place to go were it's wrote what we need to do !! No because we are all different,this is the best way for all of us to read others problems,write what is good and bad to do and maybe we can all get better,time heals,for some.I for everyone that hurts,if you have had replacement of hardware and new,please write how long it took you to get better,am a hair dresser and would love to go back to work, I have a lot of stress in my life husband is one inlaws are another,kids lose there jobs and the world is in sad shape,does stress bother others too.when I get stressed my pain is worst.Thanks for this site airs out our pain
I have been told that it takes a year to get better no mater what kind of surgery you have! But please someone help take this pain away.
Sorry this is so long but I want people not to take the first Dr. You may be sorry once you have hardware put I you cannot go to another Dr. Your ____ and mybe have to move out of town to get another,Dr.s are worried about law suits
