I read the articles on the pounding heart, but did not see an answer or solution to the situation or what causes this or solution or how to prevent the pounding heart & get a good nights sleep, or even during the day.
Welcome to the forum. I am really glad to help you out. The scientific term for the pounding heart is palpitations. Palpitations commonly occur due to anxiety but can be due some underlying disease. If you have heat intolerance, recent weight loss, and tremors in the hands then hyperthyroidism needs to be ruled out; chest pain and dyspnoea on exertion are suggestive of a heart disease and fatigue, weakness & rectal/vaginal bleeding are suggestive of iron deficiency anaemia.
If the palpitations are persistent, then a 24 hour ECG monitoring should be done to look for the underlying cause which could be due to some ectopic heart beat activity. Please do consult a physician or a cardiologist for the same. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care.
