Q: Relapsing Pancreatitis

HI i have been in and out of hospital for some time now with Pancreatitis

I have had 4 ERCP which showed a short papillary stenosis there has had no response to ballon dilation and temporay Stenting of the pancreas duct i have experienced high amylase levels on and off Cystic Fibrosis test gene mutations were neg

the hospital are reviewing my case at the next meeting and have stated its unlikley that endoscopic intervention will play a role.

So i was wondering dose that mean they cant help me with this ? or what will be the next step ??? has anyone else had this situation ???

There are surgical options available for patients with chronic, severe pancreatitis that does not respond to endoscopic interventions.

You might ask your GI doctor whether or not a referral to an experienced pancreatic surgeon might be warranted at this time.
