Hello, I've had a recurring problem for several years now in which my left eustachian tube becomes clogged. This adversely affects my hearing in that ear; I can still hear the full frequency spectrum, but certain frequencies (primarily the lower midrange frequencies in the male voice) sound "robotic". As a musician, this is not only very disconcerting to me, but directly affects my ability to work. I've been to an ENT specialist twice for this issue in the past and have had a full hearing test, which concluded that my hearing is was "normal". This problem reoccurred for me several days ago. I found the following article describing a method for using a neti pot and a steroid nasal spray to unclog the eustachian tubes, but there seems to be some confusion over whether whether this method is safe.
