Q: Reduce itching around anus or rectum

For some quite time I have experienced an intensive itching in my anus/ rectum area. I don't how this came about so I’m pretty concerned about it. My only escape to this itching is to scratch, but it only gets it worse throughout the course of scratching, it becomes irritated and starts to hurt more because all I've done with my nails is scratch the out layer tissues of my anus causing it to hurt. It doesn't have no B.O, nor does it have any signs of a horrible infection. I'm pretty desperate for an answer. I would go to a doctor but I'm simply just to embarrass. Any advice, or anything suggestions on wether to treat this terrible itch.

I hate to tell you this, but sometimes the cause of itching can be a parasite or pinworms. Hope it helps!

Check with your doctor...and
Try looking up the symptoms of LICHEN SCLEROSIS. Sounds just like it.

Most commonly this itching is nothing more than some type of hemorrhoids. Really, there is no reason to be embarrassed by this.

hello and welcome i suffer from this problem and i use any good hemorroid cream and it works wonders. Im from uk and when my doctor checked me he said because we sweat alot and its a warm area it can be a type of thrush. footballers are very prone to it. Im also female and stocky in build and the itch does drive you mad. You are so right the more you scratch the itch increases. you can buy the cream in supermarkets and your pharmacy. I also have a hemorriod and even when it disapears i still get the itch.
good luck if works for me shall work for you.

You could also have a yeast (candida) buildup in your gut. There are meds that can help, but doing a candida diet is a must. That includes eliminating sugars of any kind from your diet for a while. By sugars I mean dairy, breads, corn, potatoes, rice, friut, etc. Baically anything that contains sugars or converts to sugar in your system. Check out your local library to find a good book about this. Also see your doc for meds.

Apply a lot of cream to ensure the place does not dry up and it remains soft. This will reduce itching. Get checked to rule out eczema
