Ive been having redness and dryness around the edges of the outside part of my nose. What is it? As far as I know Im not allergic to anything. Its been here for a few days though it does pop up every know and then.
Welcome to the ehealthforum and I am really glad to help you out.
These symptoms can be due to seborrheic dermatitis which is a common skin condition that causes flaky, dry, white to yellowish scales to form on oily areas esp under the nose or anywhere on face.
Topical antifungals and mild steroids are the usual treatment and combination of the two can be used to treat stubborn patches. Oral antifungal drugs and immunomodulators such as tacrolimus and pimecrolimus are used in very severe cases. But these medicines are available under prescription.
