If diet and exercise does not help reduce cholesterol, I would do additional research on Red Yeast Rice before proceeding.
I know a person who lowered his 500 Cholesterol by taking fish oil capsules...

My husband's cholesterol was approaching 300 a couple of years ago. Tried Omega3 but he developed an allergeric reaction (a rash). Tried red yeast Rice last year and
his cholesterol dropped from 270 to 229! His doctor was very surprised since he is 52 years old and it should be going up. He mentioned that he had been taking the Red Yeast Rice and basically the doctor said "it hasn't been proven".

About a 3 months ago, I started taking this product called CholestProtect which has Red Yeast Rice as one of its main natural ingredients. I recently had some blood work done, and my total cholesterol has already dropped 63 points. I haven't experienced any sort of side-effects. Thus, I would fully recommend it.
