It could also be heat rash--a specific type referred to as "prickly heat" can cause itching. This is common for people who move to tropical climates with hot humid weather from temperate ones (like you just did). Once your body gets acclimated, the rash should go away. However, this can take several months, unfortunately. In the mean time, wear loose-fitting clothing made of breathable fabrics, don't do too much activity to cause yourself to sweat (the rash is blocked sweat glands), don't use heavy creams or ointments, stay cool (AC or fans) and hydrated. You can use calamine lotion to soothe the itching and Anhydrous lanolin which can stop more sweat gland blockage. Some people say that taking vitamin c supplements can help, too.
You should still see a doctor, just in case this isn't what it is. Also, some medications can make a person more prone to heat rash. If your rash is really bad, the doctor can give you topical steroids.
I hope this gets better soon. I also hope you are enjoying your new life in Florida (despite all of this).
