I have a few red flesh growths around my anus don't look like warts wat can this be and it itches some I'm 47 my dad was in 60 wen he had colon cancer

Hi,

Welcome to the ehealthforum and I am really glad to help you out. The typical site which you have mentioned along with a history of itching is suggestive of external hemorrhoids. Symptoms of external hemorrhoids may include painful swelling or a hard lump around the anus which may itch.

For the confirmation of diagnosis, a local per rectal examination along with a proctoscopic examination is required. The treatment depends on the degree of hemorrhoids. Sclerotherapy, in which an injection is given to dry out the hemorrhoids, is commonly used. It could possibly be a boil also for which an antibiotic is used. Please consult a surgeon for the diagnosis and further treatment.
