Q: Red bumps on the genitalia
asked by: DoctorQuestion on July 29th, 2008
I have these red bumps above my penis, in my pubic hair region. I have shaved there before but not for awhile, although I have trimmed it up a bit. There doesn't seem to be any bumps on my penis itself or my genitals. It is only in the pubic hair region. The biggest cluster is about 3 or 4 and it is where my right side meets my thigh. I am concerned, of course, because there is something wrong.

I dont know if my sexual history matters but I have had five seperate encounters the last being about a month ago. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

It is very hard to diagnose your “red bumps above your penis, in your pubic hair region” without seeing them. Such red bumps in the pubic region could represent follicle infections or a contact allergic reaction caused by the shaving. Presence of both conditions at the same time is also possible.

You may want to consult a dermatovenerologist for precise diagnosis and treatment of your problem.
