Q: Red bumps on penis head and white spots on tonsils

I had a couple of recent bouts of stupidity lately, and now I'm freaking out of course. I'm 22 years old, and had 2 risky situations, one over a month ago, and another recently. The most recent included unprotected anal sex.

The day or so after the more recent one I noticed a number of small red bumps on the head of my penis, as well as some redness and possibly a couple more on the inner foreskin. There didn't really seem to be any itching or pain associated with them, and after looking online for a while I began to think they were just a rash related to rough sex, or possibly irritation from the anal sex.

It's been probably almost a week since now and the red bumps are still there, although possibly reduced somewhat. Only now I've had a dry mouth and noticed white bumps on my tonsils. Now I'm in full panic mode, as I have to wait a week to see my family doctor and longer than that for an appointment at a sexual health clinic.

The red bumps on the penis are all quite small and barely raised off the skin, aside from one which is a bit more prominent, and maybe twice the size. The bumps seem to be just that, with no noticeable 'heads' to them, black or white. Just bumped and red. There is some irritation around the opening of the penis, and some sensitivity inside, at about the area where the head meets the shaft when pressure is applied.

The bumps on the tonsils I just noticed today, after looking online and seeing a comment that prompted it. They seem to be white, and mostly located on the right side, with some on the left, and possibly a couple near the back of the throat as well. It's hard to tell exactly what is normal for that area, as I generally don't look there. I don't notice any other symptoms at the moment.

Obviously my first concerns are aids and herpes, but obviously any sexual disease would be a terrible thing. I was hoping I could get some help to determine exactly what this is, or at least give me some possible leads.

on the 29th I was checked by my doctor, and she believed I didn't have herpes due to the lack of any sort of lesions, she took a quick look at the throat though and suggested the tonsil bumps are herpes though, and the throat soreness was a general cold. She took a urine sample and confirmed there was some sort of infection, and assumed it was chlamydia or gonorrhea and gave me 8 250mg tablets of azithromycin to take at once. And sent off a swab.

There generally doesn't seem to be much discomfort anymore during urination, however there is still a clear discharge, as well as the ocassional yellow discharge, usually in the morning. The tip of the penis is still somewhat reddish, although reduced, but it still flares up if there's much activity, such as masturbation. The bumps are mostly gone, with the occasional one or two that seem to have come back after irritation from the masturbation. Certainly reduced from the original amount though.

I called today and the test had come back negative. Now I'm really worried.

There are still some slight white bumps on the tonsils, but they're mostly gone at this point. I didn't realize herpes could have such long outbreaks?

As for my other problems, they've yet to be solved.

Aside from the Azithromycin the doctor did not prescribe any more medication, although the suggested it was a UTI and to check back in a month or 2. At the 29th I went to an after hours clinic to ask about it, as well as some symptoms of pinkeye that seemed to be starting (some green discharge, and a couple days later waking up to an eye stuck shut). They said the eyes seemed to be a viral pink eye, and showed surprise at my doctor not giving me further medication. They prescribed me a 7 day treatment of 2 Macrobid (100mg) Nitrofurantoin pills each day.

I have one day left of the treatment, and while the discharge may be reduced (hard to tell with all the water I've been trying to drink) there is still notable discharge in the morning, and a bit throughout the day.

I just don't know what's going on.

RECAP:

Mid September:
-Unprotected sex; oral, vaginal and anal
-Small red bumps noticed on penis head within a couple days afterward
-small red bumps, some redness in the area, and some discomfort while urinating
-clear discharge (stringy)
-greenish discharge noticed in the morning, noticed odor from penis. Happened to notice white bumps on tonsils (never really checked before)
-Sore throat

September 29th:
-Doctor visit, White bumps are suspected to be herpes. (sore throat goes away in a couple of days, spots remain)
-No blisters or lesions on penis, suspected chlamydia/gonorrhea
-Urine test shows some sort of infection
-Swab sent off
-Prescribed Co-Azithromycin (8 250mg pills to be taken at once, single dose)
-Pills do nothing, test comes back negative
-Suspected UTI, sent on my way to check back in 1-2 months

October 20-something:
-Some recent dryness and cracking around foreskin
-Some redness in inner corners of eyes
-Green discharge from eyes (usually eye gunk, only green)
-Wake up to eye stuck shut from discharge

October 29th:
-Visit After Hours Clinic, Viral Conjunctivitis suspected, surprised doctor didnt give further treatment for UTI.
-Prescribes 14 Macrobid Nitrofurantoin tablets (100mg) to be taken twice a day for 7 days for UTI.
-Dry mouth and lips that day, mentioned it and suggested lack of fluids and stress.

Today:
-One day left of Nitrofurantoin treatment and while symptoms seem to be reduced, there is still some slight redness around the penis opening, some discharge through the day (hard to tell with drinking water), and noticeable discharge in the morning. still some odor.

The dryness and cracking is gone and healed now. No real noticeable discomfort while urinating, still some occasional itching inside penis shaft near base.

The eyes haven't really gotten worse, seem to be getting a bit better.

I'm so tired of all this, I just want to learn from my stupid mistakes and move on.

Well this website is completely useless, but I might as well post in case someone stumbles on this and finds it useful.

Nitrofurantoin didn't work at all. It seems like it's been a case of Non Gonnococal Urinitis or something like that. Was prescribed Doxycycline (100mg) twice daily for 7 days. It's been a couple days since the treatment has been finished and it seems to be working. There is still some slight discharge in the morning, but much less than before, and only somewhat green now. before I would have a foreskin full of green puss each morning, so the symptoms have definitely decreased. Hopefully this goes away completely within the week or so.
