red bump on my pubic area Staph?

I had the same thing. My was staph. I went to to doctors and he told me to use Epson salt on it to see if I could get a head on it. Unfortunately I could not and it got unbearable with pain. He had to Lance and drain it. I would recommend you go get it checked if it doesn't get a head within a few days. Otherwise the procedure of Lancing it will be all that worse. Trust me, I had to learn the hard way.
