Hi, hope someone can help me. My period ended 4 days ago, but then 1 day later I had a brown stringy discharge that is so heavy that i have to wear a sanitary towel. It has continued for 4 days now. It would at times be brown & stringy and whenever i have a bowel movement it would be bloody mucus like at the beginning of my period with pieces of dried blood. I have thought it could be that my uterus was still breaking down the lining but is it normal to still be doing it for 4 days after my period ended? I always have a normal 28 day cycle. My husband and I have just done our 2nd cycle in stimulated IUI which was unsuccesful. Could the hormones have an affect?

Is it best for me to schedule an appointment with my doctor or give it another day or two to see if it subsides?

thank you for your help on this matter.
