I have what looks like blood under my little toenail.
I'm fairly sure i have not injured it in any way. I have had toe nails fall off before (going black first) but this looks different. It is red (although i think it's darkened a bit but hard for me to see), not symetrical and I guess 6-7mm wide. But it has a definate shape which i guess is why it doesn't seem like it has before.
i got really sun burnt when I was younger and since have been told to keep on the look out for skin cancer, and any pictures i've seen of black toenails look very different but i found a pic of something simular under skin cancer but it said it was a mole and this obviously isn't.
I don't want to go to the dr because will look really stupid if it is nothing, noticed it just over 2 weeks ago and just got it on my mind a bit. Should this be something i check out or does it just sound like nothing?
Thanks

Based upon your description, it might be advisable to see a Dermatologist. If he/she is concerned that this might be a subungual melanoma, then a biopsy can be performed.
