Q: recurring rash

For no apparent reason I keep getting this rash on my upper chest and occasionally the right side of my jaw. It doesn't hurt, shows no bumps or skin changes and generally goes away after 10 -20 minutes. IN fact I generally don't even know it's there unless I happen to look in a mirror or someone asks why my chest is SO red.The only real symptoms are blotchy redness and the red area being hotter than the rest of my skin. Other than the embarassment, it poses no problem, but I worry that it may be a precursor of something more serious. Any ideas?

When is this rash usually occurring?
Is it accompanied by sweating?

It's not accompanied by sweating. It started about two years ago and it seems to occur randomly. If I'm hot, cold, embarrassed, worried.... I can't find any one specific thing that happens every time it occurs. I don't think it really started til after I quit playing sports and gained weight. The only thing I can think of is maybe it responds to anything that would make my heart rate/blood pressure rise or lower

Do these sudden eruptions of your skin feel itchy?
Do they reappear in other skin areas, after the initial appearance with 10-20 minutes duration?
