Hi.

A bit of background: Last year September my husband and I decided we wanted to try and conceive. I went to the gynae and had my Mirena removed after 3 years. My gynae then discovered I had a very large cyst (8cm x 5 cm with a ridge). As I only have one ovary we decided to first try the Pill before thinking of surgically removing it. I was on the Yasmin pill for 3 months and on my check up fortunately found that the cyst had disappeared. Back to TTC in Jan. In Feb I had a very short period (1 day) and in March nothing. Went back to the Doc after experiencing pain near my ovary. Once again on the scan he discovered a cyst again. April back on the pill. Finished the pill mid June and had my first period on the 18th June (2 days).

Been using OPK and BBT and established I ovulated on CD14. Since 4DPO I again started experiencing pain near my ovary. Put this down to possible implantation or that it was leading up to my period. Had my period the 13th July. Only 2 days (first day, dark with clotting and my evening almost stopped, the second day very light almost pink with no clotting). Been experiencing pain near my ovary all this time and am now CD9. Pain comes and goes, and sometimes lingers for quite some time.

Could this be a cyst again ?? So soon ??

I am desperate to start trying to conceive but can’t see how if this is a cyst again I never get a gap to start !

Any advice would be appreciated.

I recently found out I had numerous cysts on my ovaries. I only found out because one burst and I went to the emergency for severe pelvic pain. When talking to my doctor about what it meant that I have these cysts and that we are trying to conceive, he said that it wasn't a concern with getting pregnant. Lots of women have cysts on their ovaries and don't know it. I read on the web that they can go away on their own after a few menstrual cycles. We have been trying to conceive for over a year and a half. I have been taking Clomid to help with ovulation which is where my doctor thinks the cyst came from. He said it is because the follicles are stimulated. Only if they are large is it a concern. If the ones that you had a 2nd and 3rd time are not large, it may not be a concern. I asked my doctor about going on birth control to get rid of my cysts, but he said taking birth control is the opposite of what I want to happen.

Now other doctors might say different things. I am going to see a different specialist next week to get a second opinion. Maybe you might one to see a different doctor to get a second opinion.

Hi Acc

Thanks for your input. Made an appointment to go and see my gynae next week Thursday. If he again puts me on the pill I might make a move to another doc. My gynae thinks I shouldn't be in a hurry to have a baby. Says I am still young (I am turning 31 tomorrow !! not young at all). He doesnt' seem to be in a rush to give me any other alternatives besides the pill. I too read about the cysts that go away but mine seem stubborn and they usually pain till they go away.

Fingers crossed for you to. Hope you get your BFP soon.
