Q: recurring odor

I have experienced a strange indescribable burning like odor in the nostrils/sinus area sometimes accompanied with watering eyes. The first time I thought I was smelling something burning. It happened during an acupuncture session. I have had it a total of 3 times in 2 weeks. The smell is terrible. It lasted the longest the first time, probably 45 seconds, and the next times 15 to 30 seconds.

I have had problems with sinus infections, and may have one now, but I have never had this odor associated with an infection before. It seems to be mainly on the left side, and I am experiencing my 4th one as I am typing this. I wish I could describe the smell. I had one about 5 to 10 minutes ago and another one now, and definitely seems to be on the left only. I am also experiencing some sinus pain on the left.

Could this all be associated. The smell lasted about 30 to 45 seconds this time.

Thanks for your help!

Hi and Welcome. I am not sure what that could be. Maybe you should see a ENT.
