Hello there

new user so let me buy you all some drinks first, although we're probably all on cranberry juice in here!
Heres the intro. I am a 27 year old female, I am a smoker but in good health.
Since I was 21 I have had kidney problems, I had about 2 or 3 infections a year but they soon cleared up with antibiotics.
Last year I had a bad infection that lasted ages, I had an ultrasound but it was clear.
About 2 months ago I again had very severe pain in the right kidney, blood in my urine, was urinating a lot and found myself being incontinent, I was very unwell. I didnt have any pain when urinating though. My doctor prescribed antibiotics but they didnt work. I saw another doctor who prescribed Cirpofloxacin. A week later I was much better and had an ultrasound. The radiographer said she saw maybe a couple of very small stones in each kidney.
I have to wait 2 weeks before I get my follow up with the GP.
2 days ago I started experiencing pain in my right kidney again.
What is worrying me is obviously why I seem to suffer with my kidneys, although my right one gets it, the left seems fairly happy.
The incontinence is scaring me big time. Needing the toilet seems to sneak up on me and I just cannot hold it in and I have wet myself on several occassions, I have not had children and this is really embarassing and upsets me. I also find myself waking in the night now and desperately needing the toilet. If I dont get to the toilet in a matter of seconds it all goes very wrong
Not sure if its related but the only other health "problem" I have is my menstrual cycle. At 21 I was on the contraceptive injection (depo-provera), it was great my periods stopped. 2 years ago I switched to the implant (Implanon) and have had nothing but problems, I was "on" for 2 years solid before finally and coincidentally in the last month my periods have almost stopped.
Anyone have any thoughts on this?
I have just started a new job (Monday) so I am very stressed right now, the thought of going off sick worries me as I am on probation for 6 months!
I look forward to popping back in and having a read.
Thank you
